A comprehensive range of components and systems are inspected to ensure the vehicle’s optimal performance and safety. This typically includes checking and changing the engine oil and oil filter, inspecting the air and fuel filters, and examining the brake system, including pads, discs, and fluid levels. The technician will also test the battery, assess the condition and pressure of the tyres, and inspect the suspension and steering systems. Other vital checks include the exhaust system, coolant levels, belts and hoses, lights, and windshield wipers. Additionally, the service may involve diagnostic tests to identify any potential issues with the engine or electronic systems. This thorough inspection helps maintain the vehicle’s reliability and extends its lifespan.
Please bring your vehicle log book so the technician can stamp it after completing the service. Although not mandatory, a service stamp in your log book for each service can enhance your car’s resale value and reassure potential buyers that the vehicle has been well maintained. Additionally, if you’re booking a full service, remember to bring your locking wheel nut key so the technician can perform a thorough wheel-off brake check.
As a general rule of thumb it is recommended that your car receives a full service every 12,000 miles or every 12 months – whichever comes sooner.
More general check ups, such as our Engine Oil and Filter Change and Interim Servicing options, are also available to ensure your vehicle is kept in the best possible condition. We also provide manufacturer servicing for all major makes and models of vehicle using official manufacturer service schedules to determine when your next service is due and the type of service required.
Service Type | Service Interval |
---|---|
Interim Service | Every 6 months or 6,000 miles (whichever comes first) |
Full Service | Every 12 months or 12,000 miles (whichever comes first) |
Manufacturer Service | As per manufacturer service schedule |
More information on which service is right for your driving habits and vehicle’s age can be found here.
Regular servicing can help to keep your car running smoothly and identify potential problems early on, reducing the risk of more serious and costly problems in the future. Most importantly, regular car servicing is a fundamental step in helping to keep you and your loved ones safe on the roads.
Keep your vehicle roadworthy with our comprehensive Class 4 MOT test at Malling Repair Services. Our certified technicians conduct thorough inspections, ensuring all essential safety aspects are covered. We provide reliable and efficient testing to ensure your car meets legal standards. Trust us for professional service and peace of mind on the road. Visit Malling Repair Services for your next Class 4 MOT test.
To find out when your MOT is due, you have several options. Firstly, you can check your most recent MOT certificate, which should display the date of the next MOT test. Some garages also provide windshield stickers indicating the next MOT due date. Alternatively, you can use online resources such as the official UK government website, GOV.UK MOT check, where you can enter your vehicle’s registration number to retrieve the MOT due date.
Additionally, if you typically use a specific garage for your MOT, they may have records and can remind you when it’s due. Staying informed about your MOT due date helps ensure your vehicle remains safe and legal to drive on the road.
The MOT Test is an annual check that must be done according to the strict rules set by the DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency). It checks to see if your car is safe to drive on a public highway and if it is fit for its purpose. As part of the MOT test, the lights, tyres, seatbelts, suspension, and pollution are just a few of the safety features that are checked. The only place that can do a MOT Test is a garage that has been cleared by the DVSA and hires DVSA approved vehicle examiners (MOT Testers).
Important: Malling Repair Service is a DVSA Approved Garage that offers you an MOT Test in Foster St, Maidstone for your car, van or motorcycle.
While your car is being tested for its MOT, the tester will check to make sure it is safe to drive. It will pass the MOT Test if it is, and it will fail the test if it is not. It’s important to know that the MOT Test is not the same as getting your car serviced. The MOT test doesn’t check the car’s mechanical health or wear. It only checks to see if your car is in better shape and works better than a certain base level. Also, a MOT test doesn’t show how good a car is in general; it only looks at how it was on the day of the test.

Jolanta Nowak2024-05-23I have been to 2 garages who were not able to help with my car, they were not really interested in putting a little bit more effort to find a reason of the problem. Guys in Mailing Repair Services were very helpful, they found a reason of knocking noise in my car after 15mins and fixed it in another 45min. All same day, without a hassle. Thank you! I definitely recommend this garage if you want to deal with someone who respects your time.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
Tilly Baker2024-05-22I just want to say Richard was amazing through all the drama of getting my car sorted- if I could give him his own review it would be 5 stars easily- make sure you ask for him when doing any major repairs!!! He’s been so helpful going back and forth between the phone and the people actually working on my car. The review lost a star because of the business itself being disorganised. (Not to do with Richard!)Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
Teresa Gray2024-05-15I highly recommend Malling repairs. I don’t take my car anywhere else as they always give a fair price and do a great job. My last visit was free as it only needed a ball bearing popped back into place.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
Paula Walton2024-05-10I’ve used these for the last few years and have never been disappointed. They’re fair, honest, offer good advise and are very helpful. Better than going to a main dealer!!Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.

All replacement products will meet and in some cases surpass the quality recommendations required by the vehicle manufacturers so as to maintain the vehicles warranty where required. So if your vehicle is still under warranty then let us save you money whilst keeping all the warranty criteria met and surpassed. Please contact the garage if you have any questions
Much of the process to carry out vehicle servicing is the same process regardless of the vehicle dependant on the level of service purchased. All waste products removed are disposed of in accordance to the current legal requirements as stated by the local Environmental services agency
Your vehicle may not display any kind of symptoms this does not mean a service is not required. All vehicle manufacturers list their recommended service levels and intervals for every vehicle and we strongly suggest/recommend that these are followed as closely as possible to find and prevent any future issue that could become very costly.
Warranty! is your vehicle still under its manufacturer warranty? Our services will NOT alter your warranty in any way as all products used meet and in some cases surpass the quality levels required to maintain your warranty. Most main dealers will tell you the car HAS to go back to them to keep the warranty ? this is incorrect please search on the internet MOTOR VEHICLE BLOCK EXEMPTION (MVBER)
To prolong the life span of your tyres it is advisable to rotate your tyre locations on a yearly basis.
Please note that if the puncture is within 1 inch of the tyres shoulder a repair can not be carried out as it is unlikely that the patch will adhere correctly
If you have experienced a puncture and the tyre has been driven whilst flat a puncture repair is unlikely to be carried out by the garage as this would have weakened the structure and integrity of the tyres side walls, on this occasion you will require a replacement tyre to be fitted for safety reasons (your garage will advise you accordingly)
Checking your tyres on a regular basis can save you hundreds of pounds in unnecessary repairs and incorrect fuel usage
If your water pump is driven by your cam belt then this cam belt has to be removed and therefore can not be replaced with any kind of warranty, so it is strongly advised that you have this replaced at the same time. Please choose our cam belt kit replacement option as this will include all the required items to complete the job correctly and maintain a full warranty

All products used are new and not remanufactured unless otherwise requested. All 3 main parts will be replaced ie: clutch friction plate, clutch cover and release bearing. Your garage will contact you if they believe there to be any issues with the flywheel before re-fitting the new clutch. Much of the process to change a clutch is relatively the same however there are a few standard steps. The garage will start by
If the garage find the condition of the existing flywheel to be an issue they will contact you with the required remedy and costs before proceeding, Please understand that if you do not wish to proceed with the garages recommendations this may alter the warranty of the new clutch supplied.
The clutch is usually made up of 3 parts 1.clutch plate. 2.clutch cover. 3.clutch release bearing put in to simple terms the clutch plate is basically a friction disc/plate that, when activated with the other two parts by depressing and releasing the clutch pedal, it presses and in return releases against the flywheel which in turn receives drive connecting it from the flywheel to the gearbox hence driving the vehicle.
Some models have a separate ADD Blue tank and some have a blister bag. Your garage will advise you accordingly (please note if your vehicle has the blister bag type these are considerably more expensive to change than quoted here)
Air Con re-gas is vehicle specific, there are currently 2 types used R134a / R1234yf (air con refrigerant), if in doubt please ask your garage or check in your vehicle’s manual to see which is the correct refrigerant gas for your vehicle. There should also be a sticker under the bonnet indicating the gas type required.

Your air con system builds up bacteria over time causing an odour within the cabin area, we strongly recommend you request a deep clean with each re-gas (ask your garage for details)

Did you know that adding an engine and fuel cleaning additive to your service can dramatically improve the health and life span of your vehicle
The majority of vehicles will only have adjustment carried out to the front wheels for what is commonly known as “toe in” and “toe out” or front wheel alignment/tracking. The technician will check the steering geometry at the front wheels via the computerised alignment system. If required the technician adjusts the toe-angle of the front wheels to the required settings specified for the vehicle (front only). If you have chosen the full vehicle geometry check then For the rest of the vehicle the technician will carry out adjustments to the Camber – Castor – Toe in – Toe out to both the front and the rear of the vehicle where applicable.
Having your vehicles steering geometry correctly calibrated is very important to ensure the stability and reliability in the handling of your vehicle. It will also increase the lifespan of your vehicles tyres immensely. The camber / toe-angle and castor front and rear will only be adjusted in the full geometry check/adjust option but the technician will check these whilst carrying out all of the services that are available and advise accordingly
