What happens?

Much of the process to carry out vehicle servicing is the same process regardless of the vehicle dependant on the level of service purchased. All waste products removed are disposed of in accordance to the current legal requirements as stated by the local Environmental services agency

• Receive vehicle and record any existing damage, mileage, dash lights that may be on and apply any additives requested/purchased
• Start the manual or visual inspection of your vehicle (depending on level of service purchased) and produce report
• Remove the old items to be replaced with new
• Replace new items
• Carry out diagnostic scan (dependant on level of service purchased)
• Road test the vehicle and re-check oil levels and diagnostic fault codes
• Report to customer any faults found with rectification work and prices required. Customers permission sort before continuing

What are the symptoms?

Your vehicle may not display any kind of symptoms this does not mean a service is not required. All vehicle manufacturers list their recommended service levels and intervals for every vehicle and we strongly suggest/recommend that these are followed as closely as possible to find and prevent any future issue that could become very costly.

Notes

To prolong the life span of your tyres it is advisable to rotate your tyre locations on a yearly basis.

What happens?

Please note that if the puncture is within 1 inch of the tyres shoulder a repair can not be carried out as it is unlikely that the patch will adhere correctly

What are the symptoms?

If you have experienced a puncture and the tyre has been driven whilst flat a puncture repair is unlikely to be carried out by the garage as this would have weakened the structure and integrity of the tyres side walls, on this occasion you will require a replacement tyre to be fitted for safety reasons (your garage will advise you accordingly)

What happens?

If your water pump is driven by your cam belt then this cam belt has to be removed and therefore can not be replaced with any kind of warranty, so it is strongly advised that you have this replaced at the same time. Please choose our cam belt kit replacement option as this will include all the required items to complete the job correctly and maintain a full warranty

• If the leak is not obvious then the cooling system will be pressurised to reveal any leaks
• Remove the old pump and replace with new
• Refill with antifreeze and water
• Run engine and bleed through cooling system
• Run till cooling fan operates and a steady flow of heat to cabin are achieved

What are the symptoms?

• Empty coolant reservoir
• Fluid may be visible under the car dependant on how bad the leak is under engine area
• A coloured build up of a powdery substance from around the water pump area (often pink)
• Warning lights indicating a fault may appear on the dash
• Temperature gauge reading higher than normal
• Engine overheating
• Noise from bearings when engine running

What happens?

• Re-fill with correct antifreeze and quantity
• Bleed any air from system
• Run engine to check fan operation and full circulation of fluid
• Check for any leaks and road test vehicle
• Allow vehicle to cool and re-check the coolant level

What are the symptoms?

• Warning lights indicating a fault may appear on the dash
• Engine running hotter than normal
• Vehicle over heating

Notes

• The antifreeze in the coolant system can deteriorate over time and the freezing point should be maintained to avoid the coolant system from freezing during the winter months or this could be a very expensive repair. It also helps to maintain the correct running temperature during the summer period

What is included?

All products used are new and not remanufactured unless otherwise requested. All 3 main parts will be replaced ie: clutch friction plate, clutch cover and release bearing. Your garage will contact you if they believe there to be any issues with the flywheel before re-fitting the new clutch. Much of the process to change a clutch is relatively the same however there are a few standard steps. The garage will start by

What happens?

If the garage find the condition of the existing flywheel to be an issue they will contact you with the required remedy and costs before proceeding, Please understand that if you do not wish to proceed with the garages recommendations this may alter the warranty of the new clutch supplied.

• Remove the old clutch unit

What are the symptoms?

• The engine speed will rise/increase, but the vehicle will not increase in speed, this will be more apparent up hill or under hard acceleration
• You will notice an awful smell within the car
• You will find it more difficult to engage gears and experience a crunching noise when the engine is running
• The position at which the clutch pedal biting point will change (normally gets higher)

Notes

The clutch is usually made up of 3 parts 1.clutch plate. 2.clutch cover. 3.clutch release bearing put in to simple terms the clutch plate is basically a friction disc/plate that, when activated with the other two parts by depressing and releasing the clutch pedal, it presses and in return releases against the flywheel which in turn receives drive connecting it from the flywheel to the gearbox hence driving the vehicle.

• What are the symptoms?

• DPF regeneration will not be carried out automatically
• Excessive smoke from exhaust system
• Lack of power due to a blocked DPF

Notes

Some models have a separate ADD Blue tank and some have a blister bag. Your garage will advise you accordingly (please note if your vehicle has the blister bag type these are considerably more expensive to change than quoted here)

What is included?

Air Con re-gas is vehicle specific, there are currently 2 types used R134a / R1234yf (air con refrigerant), if in doubt please ask your garage or check in your vehicle’s manual to see which is the correct refrigerant gas for your vehicle. There should also be a sticker under the bonnet indicating the gas type required.

What happens?

• Technician will inspect the air conditioning system and refrigerant levels
• Any faults found such as a leak on the system the Technician will inform you before continuing and will advise of any rectification work required.
• Technician will also check whether it is safe to carry out an air conditioning regas
• Provided that all criteria and current legislation are met the Technician will carry out a top up of the air conditioning system
• Technician will then check the operation of the Air con system

What are the symptoms?

• Lack of cold air to the cabin area
• Bad odour / smell in the cabin

Notes

• Your air con system builds up bacteria over time causing an odour within the cabin area, we strongly recommend you request a deep clean with each re-gas (ask your garage for details)
• We always recommend that you change the pollen / cabin filter with every air con re-gas

What is included?

What are the symptoms?

• The vehicle is sitting noticeably lower on one side
• The steering feels uneven and can even feel like it wants to veer off to one side
• There can be a rattle/metallic sound when wheels are rotating
• A knocking sound may be heard when going over rough road surfaces.
• The broken coil spring can penetrate the inside of the the tyre causing a puncture

Notes

Coil springs should always be replaced in pairs as NO warranty can be given on a single replacement

• In some occasions where a coil spring has broken right at the bottom it is not always that obvious or easy to identify without taking it to a garage. Commonly we have found that the coil springs on both sides of the vehicle can break within a short time of each other even more so if the vehicle has been stationary for any length of time, The leaning to one side on this occasion will not be as easy to spot and will need to be diagnosed by the garage.

• Due to the timing belt being encased by covers it is not always possible to inspect it without removing items. The belt requires replacement at certain intervals according to the respective manufacturers. There are very few symptoms or signs that the timing belt has a fault until it breaks. This is why it is so important that you adhere to the manufacturers recommended schedule for replacement.

• You might hear a clicking sound from the starter motor which will be the solenoid firing, but there is no rotation of engine
• When you try to start the vehicle nothing happens
• If the battery is in good condition, it is the most common reason for a vehicle failing to turn over.

• With all vehicles there is normally more than one choice of alternator fitted, this is dependant on the level of electrical equipment fitted to your vehicle. You must always replace like for like, so if there is more than one price / part listed here it is imperative that your existing alternator is identified and an identical part used for replacement as this could cause considerable damage to your vehicle.

What happens?

What are the symptoms?

What happens?

• Recording any existing damage/mileage and dash lights
• Mechanic to check and confirm brakes are required
• If required new brakes to be fitted
• Brake fluid to be topped up if required
• Mechanic will test drive vehicle and check all work before handing vehicle back to customer

What are the symptoms?

Some brake pads require a new wear indicator to be fitted at the same time, please contact the garage for details, All new brakes require a bedding in process and may make a noise until this has been achieved. Your garage will advise you accordingly

• Warning lights indicating low brakes may appear on the dash
• An audible squeal or grinding sound may be heard whilst braking
• The vehicle may pull to one side whilst braking
• There may be vibration or juddering under braking
• Brakes may feel like they are fading or inadequate

Notes

Bedding in process normally takes place over the next 200-300 miles, please refrain from heavy and prolonged braking where ever possible.
